Cindy Head Shot Dec 2013 008The kids…all six of them…have gone to school!  I have been a stay-at-home mom for 15 years and my youngest, five-year-old twins, just started Kindergarten this past fall.  I have been writing and speaking off-and-on for years, but now I am able to dedicate more time to really pursuing a job as a freelance writer, author, and speaker!

I am passionate about children.  When I was little I wanted to be a teacher and a mom.  Becoming a teacher was easy compared to becoming a mom.  I have become a mom through giving birth, adopting internationally, adopting dometically, doing IVF and surrogacy.  Over a period of nine years, my husband and I welcomed eight children into our family, two of which passed away as babies, leaving us with a family of six kids.  I want to give hope to those dealing with infertility and to offer light-hearted encouragment to those who are moms.

For the past couple years I have been:

Barren to Bonkers! A Humorous Look at Life after Infertility…with SIX kids!

  • I share the faith story of how our family came together, after many losses, through adoption, IVF, and surrogacy.
  • There are several workshops I have presented in about infertility, adoption, pregnancy loss, and preemies.
  • RESOLVE Midwest Family Building Conference, Keynote Speaker in 2007 (RESOLVE is the National Infertility Group)

  1. Wow! And I thought our life and family growth has been a whirlwind!!! Ok. Yea, so…it has been, but anyway…I am really going to enjoy your blog! ~Melissa Scott/realmom8 @ Bones in My Heart

  2. Finally had a chance to stop by your blog after you found mine today. It is so neat to hear about your gathered family! I love it, although it sounds like you’ve had a lot of heartache along the way. My husband and I have a heart for adoption, so it’s always encouraging to see other big families open their hearts for more. You are blessed!

  3. I am just starting my blog and googled wordpress parenting blogs and found you! We too adopted our two boys—funny how I just couldn’t attend baby showers for others during my infertility but once I held that little baby in my arms, I was gung ho to attend any and all baby showers. Look forward to hearing more from you.

  4. Just stumbled across your blog and boy am I glad I did. I’m really looking forward to your posts. Thanks for sharing!
